Life is precious so live each day.....

(sorry do not know where this image came from)

Sometimes we get to the end of the week and wonder where it has gone and what we have done with it.....sometimes we just have to take the time to actually live each day and enjoy it and even remember it......i wanted to share with you this poem written by a young girl in hospital with terminal cancer......

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched children on a merry go round?
or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterflys erratic flight?
or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask "how are you" do you hear the reply?
When the day is done do you lie in your bed?
with the next hundred chores running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Ever told your child "we'll do it tomorrow"
and in your haste not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die
cause you never had time to call and say "hi"?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

When you run so fast to get somewhere
you miss half the fun of getting there
When you worry and hurry through your day
it is like an unopened gift......thrown away
Life is not a race do take it slower
Hear the music!
Before the song is over!

  1. Hi Wendy
Such a magical image you found - it says so much about children.
As we know, children are not influenced by the colour of a persons skin - and it seems 'size and wrinkles' don't matter either!!

Isn't that how we should all be?

Thankyou for popping in to my blog.
    Have a great weekend!

  5. Oh Wendy, this si so true. I love it! I heard once the beauty of life is not only the destination, but also the path that take us there. We need to enjoy every day, every moment in our lives.
This is such a beautiful poem.
    Have a lovely week,
    Li :-)

  6. How so absolutely true this is, the sad part is that most people aren't even aware of how fleeting life can be.
I found your blog through Lesley Riley's and am glad I stopped by to visit.
